Realization
Life's like that
When you thought that you have gained something, you have just lost it.
When you are being understanding towards others, others do not seek to understand you.
When you are speaking the truth to someone, that person reciprocates with lies.
When you are being selfless, others only become more selfish.
One day, a man was sleeping when he dreamt of God.
"Oh God, do you love me?" asked the man.
"Why, of course! I love you more than myself." replied God.
"So how do I know if your love for me will not change no matter what?"
"If Love changes so easily, it would not be called Love."
Just another penny for my thoughts.

Hmm, what else can I say? Forget it.
Hmm, what else can I say?
| The Keys to Your Heart |
![]() You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart. In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved. You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change. You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please. Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with. Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred. In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily. |

Job and Career
Job and Career
Do you really know the difference between job and career? Many dun understand why I chose to take on several different jobs instead of deciding on one that is office-related which comes with a reasonable pay and comfortable working conditions. My response to the above comment is simple. It is based on the belief that accumulating various working experiences reaps much more benefits than clinging onto only one job. The latter is only a short term solution to a long term problem, my job seeking experience was the cause of my paradigm shift; it proved that it didn't matter whether I scored straight As for my O levels, it only showed how difficult it was for someone with limited working experience to get himself a decent job. The crux lies in being employable and not in being employed. Exposure of different working backgrounds will enable one to acquire a range of useful skills that can be used effectively somewhere else. Well, it is a cold hard fact that the employee has always been the victim of exploitation by the employer; let's accept this reality and move on. Perhaps the only solution to avoid being exploited is to exploit others by being the employer. Financial equality may just be another myth in the society today...

Harmoc Orientation
Harmoc Orientation
Went to NJ to collect my EAGLES award from the General Office and attended harmoc orientation yesterday:) Firstly I met up with Wuzhen during afternoon to go NJ together, where we decided to alight at coronation plaza and take a cab to see how fast the fare meter jumps lol.. Twenty cents for every three hundred and eighty-five metres=S After that we went for harmoc orientation.. Heard from Gladys that ninety over J1s signed up for harmoc during the CCA carnival, which was a pretty good figure to start off with:) Kudos to the seniors (J1s are juniors, J2s are seniors and J3s are alumni) for coming up with innovative ideas in promoting harmoc and making much effort to raise funds through newspaper collection for the upcoming concert in June:) Examples include the catchy slogan “harmonicar-music on the move”, a harmoc package containing a basic chromatic harmoc, instruction manual (self-made) and absolutely free training by the seniors! In addition, they discover several J1s with rare musical talents whom Mr Tang insisted that “they must not leave no matter what”.. Should these people stay in harmoc, we can expect to observe a tremendous improvement in the sound quality and music standard:D This brought back the memories from the past during the last orientation.. Back then harmoc was still quite a low-profile CCA, unlike other CCAs in NJ which already enjoyed widespread support such as the Canoeing team.. Besides we did not have that many members as compared to other major CCAs such as the Chinese Orchestra.. Furthermore we were unable to boast of any remarkable achievement as a gold in SYF was pretty much expected of us.. Indeed, we did not possess some of these advantages which some CCAs in NJ had but I was determined to let harmoc develop our comparative advantage against the others.. From my past experience and from what my friends had shared with me, I discovered that many of us stay in a CCA not because of its achievement, not because of its numerical strength, not because of its popularity but because of its people.. From the people, by the people and for the people.. Alright back to the orientation.. I must say the games which Jia Neng and Jamie play are really not for the faint-hearted, after the “panties” episode during the Christmas party at Glady’s house Jia Neng’s back with a vengeance with her “flour” game and “captain’s orange”=S The highlight was the “coffee string” which was intended to bond harmoc together---the extreme way=X I felt sorry and a sense of sympathy for the poor J1s who were supposed to play them but to my surprise it seemed that they were rather enthusiastic about these games! Felt bored after watching them play for a while and decided to play some basketball at the court with Zhen Huan, Angeline and Ying Hui.. The last time I played basketball in NJ was after A Levels and I felt great being able to play at there once again.. After the game harmoc watched some videos in one of the TA classrooms, we watched a video on last year’s orientation and another one on the genting trip.. Liked the Ju Hua Tai by Mr Tang:) When the whole thing ended Wuzhen and I stayed back to chat with the seniors and the EXCO updated us of the upcoming events for harmoc..
To the alumni: The seniors need our help! Do perform in their concert if you are able to! As for me let’s pray that I can be released from my chalet when the day of the concert comes (tentatively on 9 or 10 June).. Anyway, they are having newspaper collection on this coming Sunday so pls go down and support them if you can:)

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Returned my warm and cosy home yesterday from my first formal camp with Chua Chu Kang Pri:) Managed to learn more about organisation, planning and communicating with kids.. I liked the trainers from this camp better as most of them showed initiative in carrying out duties even when they dun have to.. Thanks to Darylyn (sorry if I spelt your name wrongly:P) and Jason for helping me to prepare dinner for the other trainers who were busy with setting up the campfire:D The kids this time round were slightly more playful and hence required more patience on my part, nearly lost my temper on the first day but luckily managed to hold back my emotions in the nick of time.. Later that night the trainer of my buddy group Aziz told me that a good trainer can appear to be fierce and yet not be angry.. His advice served as an enlightenment and I gradually exercised more self-control when managing my group.. I also realised that I may, sometimes be too good for my own good, when this happens I get bullied by others easily (especially the kids).. Thus I became more strict with my kids and reprimanded them when they did the wrong things despite my clear instructions.. But I was glad that they managed to understand the reasons as to why I reprimanded or punished them, after which they look upon me a as good friend again:) Decided to take a break after this camp before going for another one next week..
Anyway, Happy Birthday to me! Since today's my birthday.. Hmm second year being an adult.. My first year being an adult was not a very pleasant experience with many disappointments and betrayals.. Luckily I have the support of my close friends and dear buddies, they were there when I needed them the most:) Maybe I should learn to judge people and circumstances more carefully and not be such a gullible person whom I used to be.. Maybe I shouldn't sacrifice so much for others who decided to sacrifice me in the end.. Maybe some people will never realise how much I have done for them over the years.. Nevertheless, I only want those people who are around me to be healthy and live happily, thats all I ask for:) There's no need for any interesting birthday surprise, expensive birthday present or delicious birthday cake, the best gift that I have ever received is our friendship:D
Lastly, I do not reply to comments made by anonymous people. Thank you.

Camp Attachment
Camp Attachment
WENT for a camp attachment with Jun Yuan Primary School for InnoTrek on last Wednesday and ended on Friday, overall I felt the camp was terrific! Initially I thought that being a camp instructor taking charge of a group of primary five kids would be an easy task but it soon proved to be a difficult challenge.=S I discovered how short a kid's attention span could get, realised there's no limit to the amount of energy a kid could possess and most importantly, I felt the warmth which kids could give:D Leading a group of students, being a game station master and conducting debrief sessions were rather familiar duties to me as I have done so before in harmoc but the level of difficulty was much higher in this case.. Still remembered I almost shouted until my throat was dry when I started teaching the kids really simple cheers but they just couldn't concentrate on what I was telling them=X Later on I observed on how the other trainers who were much more experienced than me did it and gradually figured out the trick to controlling a bunch of kids haha.. It was then I saw the amount of passion and enthusiasm in the kids when they cheer, it was simply a sight to behold.. My group of class 5-4 was rather quiet at the beginning but the cheering sessions really bonded them much closer together and they cheered their hearts out.. Although they didn't win any prize in the end, they deserve the first prize in my heart:) Too bad I am using my old handphone now and thus unable to take any pictures with them but they were just simply CUTE! You couldn't imagine what the kids did to me-_-"
They:
messed up my hair (which I painstakingly took half an hour to style)
"massaged" my shoulders (like a massaging machine operating on full turbo)
demanded piggyback rides (I almost suffocated during every ride)
hugged almost every part of my body (first time I felt molested haha)
Besides all the points mentioned above, they also asked interesting questions, such as:
"How old are you?"
"Are you from Mediacorp? You look like some actor from a 9pm show in channel 8!"
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"You want to get married at 19 right?" (they asked this after I replied them I am single and turning 19 soon)
"Can give me your handphone number?"
"Where do you live? I want to visit you!"
"When are you coming to our school? We want to bring you around!"
But I felt really touched when a boy whom I scolded often for being playful said this to me on the last day of the camp: "Can you not leave? When can I see you again? I will miss you alot..."
Also felt appreciated when the form teacher of my class made special comments regarding my performance in the feedback form, saying that I was very keen and passionate about my job:) Anyway, just can't wait to go for another camp! And special thanks to Wuzhen for introducing this job to me:D

Song appreciation
Song appreciation
Hi folks! Still working on my new year resolution, so sorry to keep you guys waiting haha.. Anyway here's another song for yer, you will actually realise both the songs here (彩虹 and 普通朋友) are my favourites (It's listed in the profile for your info).. Translation done by me once again for the same reasons, just sit back and enjoy:)
普通朋友 (Ordinary Friends)
Composer: David Tao (陶喆)
Lyricist: David Tao (陶喆)
Translator: Tan Guo Hui (陈国辉)
等待 我随时随地在等待
Waiting, I am waiting anytime and anywhere
做你感情上的依赖
to be someone whom you can rely on emotionally
我没有任何的疑问 这是爱
I do not have any doubts, this is Love
我猜 你早就想要说明白
I guess, you wanted to make things clear long ago
我觉得自己好失败
I feel like a complete failure
从天堂掉落到深渊 多无奈
Fallen from heaven to abyss, so helpless
我愿意改变 重新再来一遍
I am willing to change and start afresh once again
我无法只是普通朋友
I just can't be an ordinary friend
感情已那么深 叫我怎么能收手
How do you expect me to withdraw when the Love is already so deep?
但你说 I only want to be your friend 做个朋友
But you say "I only want to be your friend", be a friend
我在 你心中只是just a friend 不是情人
I am just a friend in your heart, not a lover
我感激你对我这样的坦白
I am grateful to you for being so frank
但我给你的爱暂时收不回来
But I can't take back my Love for the time being
So I 我不能只是 be your friend
So I can't just be your friend
Nice song rite? Just dun get emo and cry.. Anyway can't seem to understand why I like listening to emo songs, especially when feeling emo and watching other people emo-ing isn't my cup of tea=S
Quote of the Day:
You will realise the WORTH of something only when you have LOST it, by then it is too LATE for regrets.

Time for change
Time for change
Saw the report regarding presidential candidate Barack Obama's victory on Channel NewsAsia yesterday, his victory speech here calling for change in America has triggered deep thoughts in my mind.. I love to watch politicians giving inspiring, fiery speeches which always never fail to stir the crowd and provoke imagination:) He reminds me of MLK, who had been widely recognised as one of the greatest speakers history has ever known.. Yep, I am in need of a change too and his phrase that "ordinary people can do extraordinary things" will serve as a powerful form of movitation when I am ready to set out to accomplish my personal goals:D Watch it and you wun be disappointed!

New Year Resolutions
New Year Resolution
A new year is here! Time to set new goals:) Will be spending quite some time thinking about it, meanwhile here's something to entertain the faithful readers of my blog...
彩虹 (Rainbow)
Composer: Jay Chou (周杰伦)
Lyricist: Jay Chou (周杰伦)
Translator: Tan Guo Hui (陈国辉)
哪里有彩虹告诉我 能不能把我的愿望还给我
Where can a rainbow tell me if it can return my wish to me?
为什麽天这麽安静 所有的云都跑到我这里
Why is the sky so quiet? All the clouds have gathered at my side
有没有口罩一个给我 释怀说了太多就成真不了
Can I have a mouth mask? Things will not come true when too much is said
也许时间是一种解药 也是我现在正服下的毒药
Perhaps time is a kind of antidote or poison which I am taking now
看不见你的笑 我怎麽睡得着
How do I fall asleep when I can't see your smile?
你的声音这麽近我却抱不到
I am unable to hug you when your voice is yet so near
没有地球太阳还是会绕
The Sun will continue to spin even without the Earth
没有理由我也能自己走
I can leave by myself for no reason
你要离开 我知道很简单
I know it is very simple for you to leave
你说依赖 是我们的阻碍
You said reliance was our obstacle
就算放开 但能不能别没收我的爱
Can you not confiscate my love even if you have to let go?
当作我最後才明白
Take it as I am the last to understand
Jay Chou can write touching lyrics too, which you will be able to experience certain emotional changes if you listen to this song carefully.. I have seen many versions of the song translation and dun quite agree with all of them, thus I have decided to write a translation by myself to show my perspective of this song:D Translating 彩虹 helps me to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning behind this song and appreciate this song better.. Overall, I find this a nice song and hope to share it with my friends haha:) Just dun get emo and cry okay? Lol..

I have something to say to...(continued)
I have something to say to...(continued)
Hey guys! Thanks for your patience during the last few days, the post which you all have been awaiting for is finally here=) Here it is:
I have something to say to:
My buddies frm River Valley (Brandon, Enrico and Vincent)
Brandon
The most physically fit and sensible among the four of us, I feel very secure and safe whenever you are around=) Miss your interesting comments such as "I will slap you arh" and "Guo Hui go play fiesta!" haha..
Enrico
You are the one whom I can connect with most easily, used to chat with you over the phone for looong hours, talking about anything in the sun=D Wonder if you still have the passion for singing? The gang of four can meet up for a kbox session someday hehe..
Vincent
I still can remember those days in RV when we played soccer and computer games in your house after school:) A very loyal friend to have, though you have become rather zhong4 se4 qing1 you3 throughout the past few years.. Thanks for helping me out by recommending a job to me!
My buddies from Catholic High (Daniel, Vincent and Xingzhi)
Daniel
Xiao3 hei1 describes you perfectly---small-sized and tanned, you possess a very interesting personality.. The duo comprising you and Xing Zhi always have been the primary source of entertainment during our kbox sessions lol:D Its hard not to laugh when you are around.. Felt really touched when you shed tears as you bade goodbye to us at the chalet T.T
Vincent
The exact duplicate of me! We simply have too many things in common: Jay Chou, basketball and singing.. One that you can share problems with and expect him to share some in return.. You are one who can go through thick and thin with me=> Mugging sessions and basketball trainings at Kim Seng CC were absolutely fun with you around and I hope to see you again before you leave for NS!
Xing Zhi
Hmm its seems like you are very well informed regarding the personal lives of many people lol.. Wonder how you managed to dig out those information when people tried all ways and means to bury them deep in the ground haha=P At first I know you as millionaire boy (cause he participated in the first episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire pri sch special) and now you are considered a commando man already hehe.. Good Luck!
My buddies from National Junior College (Alvin, Cindy and Shi Jun)
Alvin
From what I have seen you are a "people" person, as you really love to include your friends in whatever you do lol.. Being your friend will never feel lonely and people will find it easy to communicate with you;) You are also one whom I can share problems with and lend a listening ear to troubled souls, so continue to keep it that way!
Cindy
Didn't really get the opportunity to know you well until we graduated from NJ.. Always more than ready to help me, be it advice or job.. I really appreciated all that you have done for me though sometimes things dun go un the way we want them to be.. My best farewell gift from NJ was our friendship=)

MY SI GI NA! My most trusted crapper in NJ, the days in NJ would have been unbearable without you sia.. Hooray I got the chance to "caress" your bald head in Marina Square today.. Heard from you that it brings luck, maybe I will strike some lottery real soon lol! Remember to look for me whenever you are out from the "chalet" and share your spooky or funny experience with me=]
NJ Harmoc
NJ Harmoc is my pride:) It is a big family where harmophiles forge strong, everlasting friendships and develop their burning passion for harmoc.. After seeing NJ Harmoc growing from strength to strength and eventually emerging as the champion in this year's SYF (the only school to attain Gold with Honours) reinforced my belief that all the sacrifices made by not only me, but the EXCO and the rest of the band have been worth it:D Being the president was a difficult undertaking and I was fortunate to have the support of a group of highly dedicated and motivated EXCO members.. Other members which form the backbone of the band contributed to our success most significantly.. Including Mr Tang, Mr Song and Mrs Teai, NJHB is a formiable force to be reckoned with!
OMG its exactly 12am now.. Yep thats the end for 2007, looking forward to 2008!:D
*sound of fireworks exploding in the distance*
Shi Jun

Harmoc Day
Harmoc Day
I used to think that leaving harmoc would spell the end of an exciting phase of my life, but today, my fellow Harmophiles (Harmoc-seeking) had proven me otherwise..
Octave finally had a sectional outing today, and it was fantastic in my opinion=) The octavians met at 11am in AMK bus interchange but I was unable to join them due to an emergency which only Wuzhen and I would know hehe.. We decided to meet up before looking for the rest of the octavians when Wuzhen suggested playing a nice little trick on them.. She told them she would be bringing a friend along and requested them to reserve 2 seats for her when in truth I was supposed to be the mysterious "friend".. I played along with her and informed Jamie that I wasn't going, citing the following as my reason: My friend just told me he was rejected by his loved one and harbouring suicidal thoughts, I cant help worrying about him and will visit him instead of going outing.. So sorry.. LOL!! Jamie actually fell for the trick and Wuzhen believed it initially=P Hard to describe their shocked faces when they saw me and Wuzhen entering the restaurant lol.. Took several pictures there, will post it as soon as I receive those photos from Wuzhen=) Went to fly kite afterwards in a park at Ang Mo Kio where I rediscovered my childhood.. The Guo-s (Guorong and Guo Hui) invented an unique way of playing the see-saw and provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the entire octave muahaha.. Visited Jia Neng's house later.. Her dog (with the name Brown) is sooo cute! It likes to turn round and round, trying to catch its tail and apparently it also obeyed my command when I said "shake hands!" The performers went for a quick shower before we left for Jamie's house.. What I found amusing was that her house contained a whole collection of Pokemon and Digimon figures which I managed to identify them one by one effortlessly=) Yeah I could finally display my vast knowledge of pokemon and digimon, similar to what Zhi Rui did during the Harmoc xmas party.. Its wasn't long before we set off to Dhoby Ghaut for the performance=D
The juniors were busy preparing for the performance at Plaza Singapura and I also helped out by carrying the heavier musical instuments from Mr Song's car boot.. Other seniors arrived shortly and I was glad to see many of the seniors (both J2s and J3s) turn up.. J2s: Angeline, Yi Fang, Shu Lin, Xinying, Guorong, Pei Wen, Wuzhen, Yu Ting and J3s: Shu Fen, Deborah, Elieen, Eugenia, Jiat Sing, Hwee Hwee, Jane, Ting Hui... Matthew was not considered exactly there, he was living in my handphone and listening to the concert at that moment haha.. I believe we can form a strong and supportive Alumni after witnessing the passion they still have for Harmoc=) The performance started at 7.30pm sharp and Harmoc played a variety of songs, both new and familiar, but nonetheless pleasing to the ear=) They performed the following songs: Tong Hua, La Spagnola, Spirited Away, Happy Farmer, Frosty the Snowman.. I shouted "Encore" out loud and soon the audience followed, being influenced by our enthusiasm the kind emcee requested Mr Tang to conduct for another song again=) Simply felt thrilled when I heard loud applause for NJ Harmoc after the performance.. The seniors made their way to the "backstage" or rather the performers' area to congratulate on their successful performance and express our gratitude for the wonderful night=D Photo-taking sessions took over with much chattering and laughter, which was the undeniable trademark of NJ Harmoc---A family of warmth and love.. Gladys, as the current President of NJ Harmoc, tried to initiate the famous NJ Ya cheer after much persuasion from the seniors (including me, too old for such stuff la as you can see) and the result was simply hilarious haha=P Most of the Harmoc were stunned before reacting to join in the cheer and end Gladys's embarrassment lol.. Hmm maybe the EXCO can include "cheerleading" as one of the main criteria for selecting Presidents in the future hehe=) I departed with much unwillingless after saying goodbye to octave and Mr Song.. The day was long and exhausting but I still enjoyed it every bit=) I am looking forward to the next event or outing with Harmoc already! ^_^

Welcome
Welcome
To my closest buddies, dearest friends, other people who may know or may not know me, myself, welcome to this blog. I used to have the perception that blogging is actually a waste of time; yep that opnion still hasn't change, as you can see l have plenty of time to burn lol.. In addition, my experience of life is simply too eventful for me not to write it down somewhere.. But I am not going to describe those unforgettable moments, be it joyous or sorrowful, as I believe one should look forward to the future instead of drowning in the past..
Went to Harmoc x'mas party yesterday evening.. Earlier that day I was still shopping for the gift for the gifts exchange when something really interesting caught my eye.. It was an electronic coaster with a metallic surface which can be connected to the computer via usb to warm your drink while you are surfing the net.. Cool rite? I immediately bought it and met up with my buddies for a couple of drinks.. Afterwards I went home, feeling blur blur and exhausted.. It wasn't long before l fell asleep and to my horror my alarm didnt ring and thus l was late in meeting up with the harmoc people at Kovan! Paiseh=X Yup continue with the story.. When I met up with the juniors I was greeted by another unpleasant surprise----The J2 guys all pang seh me!!! None of them went.. I still thought Matthew would go *winks* but luckily the juniors were still as funny as ever, with intriguing
abbreviations like BJ aka Boon Jin, denny whining for another guy to accompany him to the gents and zhi rui aka rattata showing off his knowledge of chinese names of ALL the mrt stations in singapore lol.. Felt abit younger with those guys, the difference between a 17 year old and 18 year old is really huge.. We started walking towards gladys house after most of the people had arrived and suddenly saw a kindergarden named "Catholic Kindergarden", questions such as these began popping up in my mind---"Is it a boys' sch?" "Anyone frm there who went to cat high pri, sec and finally, jc?" "Do they teach the boys there to be gentlemen of high integrity, robust character, passionate about life, learning and service to others?" This showed that the propaganda by our Mr Lee was successful lol.. We reached gladys house shortly and started our party.. Right here l have something to clarify.. I wasn't emo-ing when l was sitting at the corner and looking up to the sky!! I was merely performing a magic trick to bear bear which required me to turn my back to him!! Okay enough for that.. By the way her house was really cosy.. to the extent that l fell asleep on the sofa in her basement! Perhaps not sleeping on the night before contributed to my weariness too.. The food was okay, with special highlight on zhi rui's wonderful cheesecake.. Hope the girls would never discover what the guys did with the cake hehe, if not we would be in deep trouble.. Played some games later and some unlucky ppl had to wear disgusting stuffs on their faces, yucks.. Finally the gifts exchange.. A big thank you to Jasmine for your cool gift=) Went home quickly after the party to catch the tv program featuring wuzhen and her life story.. Saw Kiat Sheng on my way home and he shared his experience in the army with me.. I enjoyed the conversation, especially "caressing" his bald head lol.. Maybe I shouldn't work so hard to pass my napfa test (especially pull-up) so I could join them instead of rotting in Singapore haha.. Managed to watch the show later and was inspired by wuzhen's positive attitude towards life and happiness in being ordinary=) You made me realise that achieving happiness is really simple.. But on how to achieve that is another complex issue.. Anyway, proud to have you as part of the big harmoc family and as a friend=)
Couldn't sleep that night again.. perhaps I am evolving into some kind of nocturnal human.. fyi mammoth's a prehistoric animal thats already extinct.. and I got a book on evolution from my sis as christmas present after she caught me watching the "Walking with" series on youtube lol.. maybe that can help me explain the kind of evolution which I am going through right now.. I am fine with being another spiderman or cyclops haha.. thanks sis=) Dear readers out there, continue to expect more entries as this blogger apparently has tons of time to post many more entries, whether meaningful or just plain crappy and cya the next time!=)

迷迷濛濛 你給的夢

From the deluded dreams you gave

Cracks appeared and pain arose

How could I bring it across to you, when you had no time?
